About Derheim Painting & Why We Do Interior Work This Way
Derheim Painting was founded in 2020 by Konrad Derheim, who spent 10 years in the San Francisco painting industry before relocating to Ardmore. The Bay Area is one of the most demanding interior paint markets in the country — clients pay top dollar for finish work that looks good in natural light, holds up against daily life, and gets applied around the family schedule, not the other way around.

Our Interior Painting Process — From Estimate to Final Walkthrough
1. Free In-House Consultation
A project manager visits your home, walks through the rooms with you, takes measurements, and asks questions about color, scope, and timing. The visit usually runs 30–60 minutes.
2. Written Itemized Estimate
You'll receive a written quote within a few business days. It lists exactly which rooms and surfaces are included, the products being used, the prep included, and which warranty package fits.
3. Free Color Consultation
Once you approve the estimate, Taylor Hunter — our in-house color consultant — sits down with you to build a palette. Samples, swatches, and visual renderings if helpful. This step is free and included with every interior project.
4. Furniture Protection & Prep
On day one we cover floors, protect furniture, and prep every surface. Holes filled, cracks repaired, surfaces lightly sanded, primer applied where needed.
5. Two Coats of Premium Paint
The full project gets two coats of the agreed-upon paint at the agreed-upon sheen. Cut-in lines clean, rolled sections smooth, no holidays, no thin spots.
6. Trim, Doors, & Detail Work
Trim, baseboards, doors, and crown molding (when included) are painted with detail brushes and fine-finish techniques.
7. Final Walkthrough & Warranty
We walk every room with you. Anything that needs adjustment, we adjust on the spot. Final payment isn't due until you've signed off. A week later we follow up. Your written warranty kicks in.
